Trio Grande, a miniature Orchestra, encompasses a wide variety of styles

CLASSICAL........From the cool and elegant Baroque of Bach, Handel
and Vivaldi to the Classical brilliance of Mozart and Haydn, the Trio
sparkles.

The CD "Classic Elastic" has proved a
perennial favourite for children aged 3-8. It features the voice of the
young Miss Adelaide (and Master Dominic) as the unco-operative
children resisting some well-meant condescension (Paul).
TO TOP
She trained as a dancer with the Camberwell District Ballet, and then
attended the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School.
Having completed her VCE with two “Top Cats” in dance, she then
completed Bachelor of Contemporary Arts Degree, majoring in Dance,
at Deakin University. She teaches Dance for BDC Dance Studios (Principal Joanne Watt) in
Camberwell and Ashwood, and has taught VCE Dance subjects for
Swinburne Secondary College. As well as being a superb "wearable art" model, she has choreographed the Manningham Wearable Art Competition, providing an imaginative sound track and inspired movement for 17 models.
She also presented school/kinder shows for the innovative and
progressive Kidz Bodz company on themes of health and nutrition.
She has been a popular guest artist with Trio Grande and Elastic Band shows,
and also guests as singer with various popular groups but has devoted her talents to the Moulin Rouge in Paris for the past two years. She is much missed by her parents, brother and her other fans

The Romantic violin sound of Margaret Dickson and the passionate
piano of Sue Goessling are complemented in style by the varied timbre
of Paul Williams’ woodwinds.
Miss Adelaide is the equally talented dancer/singer who enlivens the
“Classic Cabaret” items with her skills, particularly popular in her
renditions of some of the neglected gems of the cabaret repertoire.

"Hush") for
whom it has sold over 12,000 records raising over $200,000.
As Adelaide, Paul and Margaret’s daughter, has grown older, she has
graced the Trio as a guest, singing her popular Eartha Kitt selection,
and dancing in both balletic and acrobatic styles. She has now become a
leading performer in her own right and is a unique talent with an
uplifting and enjoyable approach to her presentations.ELASTIC BAND
In 1988, The Elastic Band began life as part of a touring project for
the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Tours for the Victorian and SA Arts Councils (91 and 93) soon followed,
and a series of Community shows performed regularly in the delightful
surrounds of the Box Hill Community Arts Centre. Since then, the group
has performed thousands of concerts/shows, giving many children their
first taste of concert-going, with funny programs of superlative quality
presented with style and flair
The Elastic Band performs a variety of shows suitable for children from
Kinders to Year 6.
Paul Williams
enjoyed a happy
childhood free of music lessons. However, he taught himself
saxophone at the age of 17 believing it to be a clarinet.
After working in small group jazz and rock bands,
he joined the Army Band upon call-up, and at 23 took up flute and
bassoon, on which instrument he played with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Sydney Opera House Orchestra (he played in the first Opera, Ballet and Symphony concerts in the Opera House) and was with the Melbourne Symphony
Orchestra as Associate Principal Bassoonist from 1976-99. He is also vastly experienced as a chamber musician and teacher. His 5
Licentiates and Music Degree were achieved after the age of 50- he
currently plays with the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra
where he may often be heard playing the saxophone
solos.
TO TOP Margaret Dickson
is also a former member of the MSO.
Margaret showed musical talent from an early age, and was deeply
immersed in violin playing and ballet. She had no intention however, of
pursuing music as a profession when she started her course at
Melbourne University, but agreed to be a foundation teacher of the
Music in Schools program. She then undertook a whirlwind course at
the National training Orchestra
before joining the Elizabethan Melbourne Orchestra (Now the State
Orchestra of Victoria). She completed her Arts Degree during this period.
After then joining the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, she travelled to
Cologne to study with Igor Ozim, and on her return re-joined the
Orchestra in the first violin section, where she played for ten years.
Upon marriage to Paul, she left the Orchestra to raise a family
(Adelaide, born in 81 and Dominic, born in 82). Margaret continued to
play chamber music with the Rantos Collegium and the Melbourne Philharmonia, free-lance work, Opera and ballet as well as
teaching. Like Paul, Margaret enjoys playing in the Australian
Philharmonic Orchestra in its entertaining concerts and they are currently preparing for the coming new year Shows in Sydney and Melbourne. They are also looking forward to the splendid "Sponsors' Ball" in the Crown Casino on December 9th.
TO TOPSue Goessling
was
another who showed early talent, but whose career path was
unconventional. Sue attributes much of her love for the piano repertoire,
and for music in general, to the strong influence of her parents,
particularly her mother, whose piano playing left an indelible print on
Sue’s artistic nature.
Sue trained as a teacher, and taught for a brief period as a classroom
teacher, but was very soon taken up in various roles, performing as
accompanist, chamber musician and repetiteur for various organisations
including the Australian Opera. Sue then put piano aside to pursue
corporate work with her husband, John, while rearing Alexander and
Joshua. The corporate experience, however, seemed merely to focus
Sue’s vision on her real love-music!
Upon re-entering the music profession, Sue has rapidly become one of
Melbourne’s leading accompanists and Theatre musicians
(voted "Theatre musician of the Year 2003") and is to be
seen and heard in a wide variety of events not only around Melbourne,
but around Australia, such as the recent hit “Mikado” with the Gilbert
and Sullivan Company of Australia. She may also be heard in OzOpera's
superb small productions of "The Magic Flute", "Hansel and Gretel" and
"Carmen" which have thrilled thousands of opera-goers.

MISS ADELAIDE
is
the professional name of Adelaide Dickson Williams, Margaret and
Paul’s elder child.
Even before she was born, her parents debated whether she would be a
flautist or a violinist. However, she began life as a soprano, keeping her
audience awake night and day for many weeks.Dominic Williams
is Miss Adelaide's brother and fellow musician. After a normal sporting childhood, Dominic took up guitar at a late stage and proved to have a flair for it, as well as for composing original music. After completing his Honours year in English Literature at Melbourne University he has moved toward full-time music, teachinga variety of styles at Sacre Coeur, Korowa and private practice. His cameo spots in Trio Grande Band shows have become a much-loved feature in recent times.
